A Sneaky Pete Magic Set for
Christmas, a book about Houdini, and telling funny stories about his pet
parakeet started Lovell's performing career in grade school. After
You heard the saying,
"Throw your hat in the ring". Today we know that line for
politicians as they make their decisions for running for public office
but, for Lovell Buchanan, it has meant the beginning of a lifetime of fun,
creativity, being on stage in front of many audiences and a challenge far
beyond his imagination. He made inaugural magic by being invited
twice to perform at Governor Ridge's Inauguration. He was also
selected to perform for President Bush at the Easter Egg Roll on the White
House lawn. He marched off for the past several years to win top
awards in the comic division at the annual Mummers Parade in
Philadelphia. His clown image is on a
His comedy act takes him
around the country doing some 200+ shows a year. His love goes far
beyond his comedy acts as his second love is collecting memorabilia of the
more famous comedy acts. Characters like Charlie Chaplin, Emmet
Kelly, Red Skelton, Lucille Ball, Abbott and Costello, to name only a few,
bring joy and inspiration to Buchanan. His performances are unique and different and seen with a vision. Lovell is quiet and reserved until he dresses for the occasion and gets into his character. Then he begins his act with such enthusiasm, as the time he juggles an eight ball, a golf ball, and a bowling ball, and includes tricks that really stink with his pet skunk and adds jokes that might just be a little hokey. His acts of Funfoolery, Whistling Willie, Big Shot, Chef Percy Produce and Professor Catchup to name a few bring laughter to those around him. In his words, "It brings me great honor to make people laugh and that I can lighten their daily burdens and for a moment bring joy into their life. Laughter is a cure-all for everything we do in life", said Lovell Buchanan. About Lovell is taken from a news article titled, "Laughter is the Only Cure". |
